A Glumm Home — Coral Gables
Slow mornings, easy company.
A private residence in Coral Gables.
Some homes are designed to be looked at. This one was designed to be lived in.
Morning doesn’t begin with an alarm.
It begins with light crossing the oak floor.
Coffee, made slowly. The book stays open.
Conversation starts before breakfast.
The house simply makes room for all of it.

Morning
The first cup, unhurried
You reach for the same cup you always do. The stone is cool under your hand, the flowers are three days old and still lovely, nothing on the counter you have to move first. The day can begin whenever you’re ready. The room is in no hurry either.

Late afternoon — the room keeps its own time

Gathering
Room for people, and for play
Friends find the soft seats without being shown. Someone notices the little brass creature on the floor and laughs. The wine comes out. No one is precious about the furniture. The evening starts easily, and forgets to end.

Between rooms
The house keeps unfolding
Down the hall the light changes by the hour. A chair waits by a window no one planned to sit in — and someone always does. Room after room, in no particular hurry, the house keeps offering somewhere to land.

Rest
The day loosens
Warm water, low light, the last of the noise draining out of the house. Tomorrow can wait until morning. And morning, here, is worth waiting for.
Luxury was never the price of the things. It was the thought behind them.
Luisa’s Edit
The pieces that make this room
Every piece earned its place.
The bouclé modular sofa
Soft enough to live on, composed enough to look intentional. It rearranges itself to the evening — apart for reading, together for company.
The nested cocktail tables
Two heights, one gesture. Coffee here, a book there, and out of the way entirely when the room fills with people.
The dome table lamp
Light you feel more than see. After dusk it warms the corner the way a low fire would.
The hand-thrown ceramic bowl
The hand that made it is still in it. Fruit today, keys tomorrow — beautiful either way.
The wool throw
The thing everyone reaches for without thinking. It makes a large room feel like it belongs to you.
The brass floor sculpture
Not useful, and that is exactly the point. A serious home should keep a little mischief.
Each piece is being sourced and noted.
Leave your email and Luisa will write to you the day this edit opens — where each piece comes from, what it costs, and what she would choose instead. One note. Nothing else.
What this project taught us
- 01Morning light is worth designing around.
- 02A home should invite conversation.
- 03Luxury begins with restraint.
